At the age of 35, Trevor Thomas was diagnosed with a rare and incurable eye disease that ultimately caused him to lose his sight over a period of 8 months. Today he is the world's only blind professional long distance hiker, wandering solely with the help of his guide dog, Tennille. Throughout his career, he has trekked nearly 20,000 miles on America's most rugged and remote long trails and I'm sure he's lost the trail less times than I did and can set up his tent 10 times quicker than I can.
